Boscombe dental practice enters liquidation

Sample News Big

A dental practice in Boscombe has gone into liquidation, it has been confirmed.

Patients currently registered with Wootton Lodge on Christchurch Road have been advised to contact the NHS 111 helpline if they require urgent dental treatment until a replacement provider has been identified.

Representatives from NHS England are currently working with local practices to try and provide cover for patients who have scheduled appointments for the coming weeks. Wootton Lodge provided both private and NHS dental treatment.

Patients who do not have appointments booked have been encouraged to consult the NHS Choices website to find local dental practices that have places available, as there are no immediate plans to transfer the contract to a different provider. Urgent treatment is available via the 111 service.

A spokesperson for NHS England in Wessex issued an apology to patients who had been inconvenienced by the clinic’s closure and stated that the authority was working with alternative providers to ensure that patients were able to access dental care until a new contract holder has been confirmed.

It is not clear why the clinic closed unexpectedly.
