Boots Announces the Opening of Second Dental Surgery
High street giant, Boots, has announced the opening of a second dental surgery.
The chemist, who already has one surgery in Kensington High Street, has announced the opening of a new practice in the Manchester Market Street store. The surgery will provide dental treatment six days a week in the heart of Manchester city centre.
Boots has already ventured into other health services and offers NHS drop-in centres and the opening of dental practices shows a growing interest in private firms working alongside the NHS. The Market Street store now provides a range of health services, from dentistry and eye care, to NHS drop-in appointments and pharmacy services.
Boots has teamed up with Ocean Dental to open the new surgery. Dr Nilesh Bhatt, director and principal dentist at Ocean Dental, said that it was an extremely exciting opportunity and will enable members of the public to access a huge range of services under one roof.
News of the surgery comes at the same time as the government has announced an additional £28 million in funding for NHS dental services.
