Barnoldswick gets new NHS dental practice

Residents in the Lancashire town of Barnoldswick are delighted after a new NHS dental surgery opened its doors to patients this week.

The new surgery means that local residents now have a choice of two NHS practices. Harrison Street Dental Care has been opened by the same dental group that owns the town’s other practice, Barnoldswick Dental Centre. Two of the dentists from the Barnoldswick Dental Centre have moved to the new practice.

Sharon Newton, the area manager, said that the new practice would increase access to NHS dental services for local residents. Ms Newton said that the practices are working in conjunction with NHS East Lancashire to ensure every patient who needs dental care has access to an NHS dentist without having to travel long distances or wait lengthy periods of time for treatment.

The new Harrison Street Dental Care practice will offer a full range of general dental treatments, as well as cosmetic treatments, which are available for private patients. The practice also offers orthodontic care and is set up to cater for nervous and anxious patients.

So far, five hundred patients have registered with the new practice and staff say there are plenty of places still available. Patients who are interested in joining the register are urged to contact the practice directly or call NHS East Lancashire for further details.
