Australian Patients Flock to Bali for Cheap Dental Treatment

Sample News Big

Bali has long been a popular destination for Australian tourists. However in most cases, the main reasons for travelling were great surf and wall-to-wall sunshine. Today, a different form of tourism is emerging and there’s a growing number of people taking advantage of discount dental fees.

Medical tourism isn’t a new thing. It’s been steadily growing in popularity over the last decade. But it’s only recently that Bali has emerged as a hotspot for Australians eager to allay dental troubles or improve the look of their smiles.

The main draw of travelling abroad for treatment is the cost. In Europe, tourists from Western countries and Scandinavia have been heading east to take advantage of lower fees for years. Now, even further east, patients from Australia and New Zealand are enjoying dental holidays for cheaper.

Costs in Bali can be more than 50 percent lower than those quoted in Australia, so even if you go for a holiday as well, you’ll still save money. In fact, one Australian paper reported that you could enjoy a luxury two week holiday in Bali, all expenses paid, including private transfers and spending money for the same price as the dental work alone at home.

Kuta-based ‘The Bali Dentist’ has established a reputation among foreign visitors and there has been a significant increase in the amount of interest shown in dental services in Bali of late.
