American dentists gear up for free kids’ dental events in February

Dentists across the US are gearing up to take part in a national event to provide free dental care for children.

Dentists all over the country are offering free dental treatment for kids around the 3rd of February as part of the Give Kids A Smile campaign.

One organisation that is promoting the campaign is the Minnesota Dental Association. Most offices are offering appointments on a first come, first served basis, and parents are urged to call up and register their child in the near future to avoid disappointment.

Treatments including sealants, fluoride treatment, and routine check-ups will be made available to children on the 3rd and 4th February. In Minnesota alone, more than 2,000 dental professionals will be volunteering at more than 120 clinics.

Dr Kevin Dens, president of the association, explained that free clinics are a golden opportunity for parents who struggle to afford dental care for their children. There is “so much unmet need” in the state, Dr Dens explained, and campaigns like Give Kids A Smile can really make a difference.

To find out more about events and participating clinics, parents are advised to search online. In Minnesota, details of clinics can be found at mndental.org.
