The Academy of General Dentistry has awarded Dr Aria Irvani a Mastership Award for his excellent commitment to dental education.

Orange County-based Dr Irvani was presented with the prize at the academy’s (AGD) commencement celebration in Baltimore, Maryland.

The Mastership Award is AGD’s highest honor and it has only been awarded to less than one per cent of practicing dentists in North America in the last 44 years.

Dr Irvani, who was one of 156 recipients receiving prizes at the ceremony, completed 1,100 hours of continuing education covering all the disciplines of dentistry. This included 400 hours of hands-on skills training.

Dr Paula Jones, AGD president, said that the awarded recognised Dr Irvani’s outstanding accomplishments and added that he had to go above and beyond normal standards to make his practice cutting-edge.

A graduate of the University of Southern California, Dr Irvani has practiced in Upland for more than 18 years.
