The American Dental Association is urging dental assistants and their clinics to promote what they are doing for Dental Assistants Recognition Week.

The week (DARW), which will be held from 7 to 13 March 2010, highlights the valuable contribution that dental assistants make to the industry.

The theme of this year’s DARW is ‘One Team, One Goal’ and it is being jointly recognised by The American Dental Assistants Association (ADAA), the American Dental Association (ADA), the Canadian Dental Association and the Canadian Dental Assistants Association.

Angela Swatts, ADAA President, said that DARW is imported as it recognises the vital contribution of dental assistants to the oral health team.

Dr Jake DeSnyder, of ADA, added that the expert care of dental assistants makes all the difference to patients and the rest of the profession.
