Access increases to dentistry in Tyrone

Three new dental clinics are expected to increase access to Health Service dental care for people in Tyrone, Northern Ireland.

Part of a £17million health service dental contract, the new clinics have been established in Dungannon, Omagh and Strabane by Oasis Dental Care.

Northern Irish health minister Michael McGimpsey said that it was everyone’s right to be able to access dentistry no matter what their income or life circumstances were.

He added that this was why he had awarded the £17million contract to Oasis and said that this investment was a sign of how the Health Service was working for everyone in Northern Ireland.

Health and Social Care Board senior manager for Derry Dr Judi McGaffin claimed that the new surgeries were vital for increasing access to care for local people and said that they are of the highest clinical standard.
