A former graduate of The University of Southern California has donated $35million to its dental school.

Herman Ostrow, now a university (USC) trustee, put perfect smiles on faces all over campus when he donated the money, which is thought to be the largest donation ever made to a US school of dentistry.

In return USC has decided to rename the dental school after Ostrow.

The funding will be spent on renovating and upgrading facilities at the school, as well as funding research, attracting future students and funding programs that benefit the oral health of local Los Angeles people.

Ostrow graduated from USC in 1945 with a dental degree. After practicing for more than 15 years he went into real estate and construction.
