30,000 Children To Recieve Free Dental Care In Ghana

Thirty thousand children are set to receive free dental care in the Ashanti region of Ghana.

Dr Thomas Agyarko-Poku, executive director of the Otumfuo Charity Foundation, confirmed that children from communities including Adansi-Praso, Kwadoso, Abono, Behenase, Buoho and Akyeremade, will receive free dental treatment as part of a programme fronted by the Otumfuo Charity Foundation in conjunction with the Foundation for the Development of African Culture and Heritage, which is based in Cape-Coast, and the Smiles for Everyone Foundation, which is based in the USA.

School children in Kumasi have already benefited from the programme and Dr Agyarko-Poku has outlined plans to establish a mobile dental service at the Manhyia Palaceto offer a comprehensive range of services.

Mr Norm Schulz, from the Smiles for Everyone Foundation, said that 15 doctors and two other health workers were in the region to help train local people and provide them with equipment to allow them to treat children after the volunteers have returned to America.
