    Default Root canal....

    Hi..

I had root canal treatment 5 years ago. I felt from the start that the dentist had not done a great job. I have always had occasional pains and throbbing in the tooth after the treatment. I could put my tongue on the tooth and feel the throb

Anyway, the past few days I have been having a very bad ache in it, I went to a new dentist and he said I have an absyss in the tooth, I am taking ABs and Anti Inflammatorys. He said the root canal was a bad job and he could see that from the Xray. I now have to see a root canal specialist and have it redone which I cannot afford.

I just want to ask, is this a common thing to happen after 5 years? I look after my teeth. I want to write a letter to the dentist who did the RCT, and ask for a refund. Do you think I am wrong to do this?

    Thanks in advance..

    Dani

Ask the specialist for his professional opinion. Then he can advise you best how to proceed.
