Is UV light in teeth whitening dangerous
Is the blue light used in Zoom tooth whitening bad for you?

Hi there,
The Zoom Lamp uses a Mercury Halide lamp which is filtered to give a blue/purple lamp of 400nm wavelength. This has been perfectly safe and approved for usage in a dental setting. There is no risk to you as long as the manufacturers instructions regarding soft tissue masking have been carried out effectively.
There may be some slight soreness on the gums for a day or so afterwards but this soon disappears. I do around about 10 Zoom treatments a month, and have not had any problems.

shouldn't cause any problems, if it did then our US friends would be all over it with their lawyers.
