?reaction to anaesthetic
Hi I wonder if you anyone can help? I want to have cosmetic dentistry and had several appointments at a smile spa dentist. On three ocassions i had a local anaesthetic injection and i passed out each time ,seconds after the injection.I recovered after a few mins and was and able to carry on with treatment. I went hot, vacant and had palpatations ? a faint. I am now really scared to go back. My dentist said its because i had not eaten (i had!). I think i may be reacting to the local as it happens within seconds of the injection. Although needles arnt my favourite thing, i am definatley not scare of them, I work in healthcare am constantly around needles, blood etc. I dont know what to do now as i am very unhappy with my teeth and have finally plucked up the courage to go to the dentist, now this has happened. Thankyou for reading.

It's difficult to say exactly what is going on but you may be having a mild reaction to the adrenaline in the anaesthetic. If this is the case, you can rest assured that there is no damage being done although it does not feel pleasant
