    Default After treatment

Let's say my teeth are straight again in 2 months. Do I still have to keep wearing the brace? And on average, for how long?

nope but you would need to wear a retainer to keep your teeth straight, so either a fixed retainer which is like a think wire on the back of your teeth or a nightime retainer

A fixed retainer is an excellent way of making sure your teeth will not "drift back" again. One of our nurses at our practice recently had fixed braces, for the second time, as she was not provided with retainers after her treatment she had as a teenager.
She now has fixed retainers both upper and lower to make sure this relapse does not happen again.

    Your options are
    1. fixed retainer - remember that you will not be able to floss, so your oral hygiene has to be good. I would recommend tepe brushes to help get between the teeth
    2. removable retainers - these are clear .

I personally give both type of retainers to all my orthodontic patients, unless they have no space for fixed retainers.
