Gums are swollen
I am almost 27 and had brace on both my top and lower teeth for a year. Got it removed 2 months back, but now my gums r really swollen , have receded a lot , and there is gap between teeth and gums. I cant even eat properly due to the gap in gums around the molars. My dentist says that u will have to live with it now. My health is suffering because of it as I cant eat. I am already under weight. Any Advice ?

Hi
I am sorry to hear about your circumstances. This does not sound right.
I would recommend you have second opinion to find out what your potential options are to get your mouth in a healthy state.Dr Raha Sepehrara BSC(Hons) BDS with Distinction

I agree with Dr Sepehrara, a second opinion is required here if that is your dentists attitude.

it may be that you have some form of gum disease or recession that needs to be under control before it gets worse. Try and get an appointment with a gum specialist (periodontist) for a second opinion as they will have lots of experience in this area and will be able to advise you appropriately.
