There are a number of people who can help you, TMJ problems do not fall under one specific speciality, and treatment obviously depends on diagnosis.
This area is often poorly understood, I would recommend that you seek the help of someone who has experience in dealing with headache type problems which are associated with the TMJ. You can always go the the find a dentist section on the main page and ask around
I hope this helps

I have been looking at the list of dentists and do you have to ring to find out if they specislise in tmj and headaches because my own dentist is on the list and they dont.
I would ideally like to see dr justin glaister but i live in cumbria and hes based in london. Do you know how many visits on average you need ?

It very much depends on the type of treatment required and what your dentist feels is best. You may need 2 appointments or quite a few
You are of course welcome to contact Dr G!
I hope this helps

I know Justin well, as he works in our sister practice. PM me if you wish me to give the girls your details so he can contact you.

p.s. oral surgeons like to fix things with surgery... there is very little evidence re the efficacy of surgery for treatment of TMJ
