implants for overdentures
I just had implants (2) in order to snap in dentures. All information on line has had the implants placed in the 22 & 27(cuspids or eye teeth) positions. Mine are right in the center (24 & 25)
of my gums. Has any one ever had this done, I can't see it working. The implants were just uncovered and healing caps put on, it will be a couple of weeks before I go to have them connected to the dentures. When the dentist uncovered the implants he did not show them to me but put my temp denture back in. I asked before I started this process if my bone was good to do it and he said yes. If during the surgery he found a problem shouldn't he have stopped. Any comments or suggestions will be appreciated

Hi there,
Ideally the positions of the implants are bes tin the canine regions of the mouth, however, sometimes available bone and local anatomy means we have to put them elsewhere! On the whole, the modern day attatchements that are used to hold dentures onto implants are so good, you wont really notice a difference!DR NILESH R. PARMAR BDS (Lond) MSc (UCL) MSc (GKT)
