Default No front tooth - Lost Dentures?

Yesterday, I lost my dentures down a drain, I now have no front tooth, very embarassing - no way can I go to work tomorrow! What I wanted to know is, can an emergency tooth be made very quickly (in a day) to cover this hideous gap? Any advice appreciated after a sleepless night of worrying, thank you

    Hi

I am sorry to hear about your circumstances.

Yes it is possible to have an emergency temporary denture made in one day but this depends on the dentist and the technician. Not everyone provides this service and it's often done privately.

    Best of Luck

    Kind Regards

The cost can vary depending on the quality of the denture and therefore on the lab technician fees.

The quality of a denture depends on:
    - quality of acrylic (pink plastic) used
    - quality of the artificial teeth
    - skills of the lab technician and dentist

It very much depends on your original problem. If you have had an infection under your tooth, the area should be reassessed within about 4 weeks. The surgeon at this point would be able to give you a clearer indication as to when the implant can be placed and whether you would need grafting

    I hope this helps

Dentures can be fitted immediately after the teeth have been taken out. In this way you would not be left with visible gaps and spaces can be maintained for future treatment, ie to fit bridges/implants.

Please be aware that immediate dentures like the one described above will require adjustments and/or replacement few months after the extaction.

    hope this helps

As a matter of interest, what would be the average price range for a 2-unit temporary partial denture made to a reasonable standard?

Depends on type of teeth being used and type of materials. Prices start from £500.00.
