Default What is best? 2 implant bridge or 3 implants

    Dear dentists

Could you please advise me if it is best to have a 3 tooth bridge supported by 2 implants, or 3 separate implants. I am aware that a third implant will cost more, but i was wondering about the bone loss and gum recession over time if the bridged gap isn't loaded with an implant. I am due to have a bone graft next week for my 2 premolars and first molar in preparation of the implants. Thank you for your time and help in advance.

    Kind regards
    Lou

Depending on the clinical situation, probably 2 implants.

3 implants will not be any better than 2 and controlling aesthetics would be much more difficult with 3 implants

    Hope this answers your question

    Dear Dr. Pav

Thank you for your extremely quick reply. Your answer is exactly what my dentist had said. I guess I just needed to hear a second opinion. I would of thought that an implant for each missing tooth would look better, but my dentist said that he wouldn't be able to get such a nice contour with the little pointy gummy bits between the teeth. (sorry for my vague terms, but i have forgotten what they are called).

    Many thanks again

    Lou
