Implant help. To sedate or not sedate
Hello,
I've just joined the forum - Thank you for accepting me
I'll explain my situation. Basically, I was mugged and badly beaten up in my hometown of Brighton about a month ago and it resulted in me having to have my Front left tooth and the tooth adjacent to it on the left taken out.
I currently have a Denture in place but at 28 years old I'm seeking to get Dental Implants.
I'm all booked in for the 7th May (bit nervous) and I've been offered the option of Sedation.
Can someone please explain the benefits of this to me compare to local anaesthetic?
I've had a lot of work done under Local before but not sure how long this procedure will take for two Implants and if sedation is necessary.
Has anyone ever had it done before? I can save myself £125 by choosing not to be sedated but if people say it's worth it then I will go for it.
I look forward to (and hope to receive) some helpful replies.
Many thanks,
Martin.

Hi Martin,
If you are a bit nervous about having the implants done, go for the sedation. Its nicer for you, as you wont remember any of the procedure, and its easier for he dentist as you will be calm and relaxed throughout. Assuming this is IV sedation.
£125 is a good price for sedation on top of implants.DR NILESH R. PARMAR BDS (Lond) MSc (UCL) MSc (GKT)

Hi Nilesh,
Thank you very much for your reply.
I think I will now definitely go ahead with the sedation as advised.
How long after the procedure am I likely to feel the affects?
