Default warranty period on the implant

    Hello,

I am considering an implant for a missing upper molar tooth.
I am very keen to do it.

However the dentist said that he only gives 6 month warranty on the implant.
My impression that it should be several years .e.g 5 years.

I appreciate that each case is individual.
Is 6 month warranty on implant standard in the UK.

The patient is 30 year old, non-smoker.

The cost of the implant is £375 for sinus lift and £2000 for implant and crown

    Many thanks

    Hi there!

I offer my patients a 3 year warranty as long as they maintain 6 monthly examinations and 6 monthly hygienist appointments (if necessary). The idea of a warranty is something which not all dentists are keen to provide as the implant can go wrong for many reasons, the main one being poor hygiene by the patient!

the cost of £2375 seems very reasonable to me.
