Thickness
Hi,
I went for a consultation today and the dentist said the thickness of the veneers would be 0.75 mm. He said he has the ability to make thinner ones but that they dont look good. However I dont want my teeth to look thick and bulky. Do you think this will be too thick?
Also, if they are filed down by 0.75mm could this be too much filing and potentially cause sensitive teeth?
Thanks

Hi Susan,
Not to be ambiguous but the answer to all your questions is "it depends"!
Thin veneers do not always equate to false looking veneers, although in certain situations it can. When done correctly, thicker veneers do not necessarily look false. It very much depends on the skill of the technician and dentist
Removal of 0.75mm may cause sensitivity if the preparation penetrates the deeper layers. Although this is nothing too much to be concerned about as the sensitivity should go once the final veneers are bonded in place.
I hope this helps
