David is gentle and thorough. He enjoys helping nervous patients with complex needs and offers choice in cost, complexity, and timescales. David always allows generous consultation times, as every small detail contributes to achieving superior results.

David qualified in Edinburgh in 1976 and spent time studying in San Francisco. He enjoyed 11 years in the army with Para-medic responsibilities for the Parachute Regt, instructing special forces in mountaineering, skiing and survival techniques.

David founded the award winning Nepal Hospital for cleft palate, oral cancer and facial trauma, which has changed and saved many lives, giving people access to treatment that would not be available without his and the other clinicians, who voluntarily give their time to this worthwhile cause.

He married Cath in 1979; their children are studying Engineering and Fashion. He loves mountaineering, photography, sailing, kayaking, ski mountaineering and ecology.
