Thornton International Inc. is an American company and was established in 1975. Its basis was Thomas Thornton’s invention of the interproximal toothbrush in 1972, an innovative type of interdental cleaning device. The new toothbrush was marketed as a dental floss because more of the public could identify with it that way, and its brand name was Super Floss. The interproximal toothbrush is an educational oral health product, and was recognised by many leading dentists and hygienists.
