Would Cosmetic Bonding be Suitable For My Daughter?

Q.
Good morning Dr Gambroudes, I’m hoping you can offer some advice for my daughter. My daughter is 18 years old, and in the process of having her teeth straightened in a brace. unfortunately my daughter has severe enamel erosion due to over exposure to fruits such as pineapples as a child. She has recently under gone surgery to remove overcrowding. She is very nervous with dentists, which is part of the reason as to why her teeth became a problem. Her teeth are thin in apperance, and on the yellow side. I would like to know if cosmetic bonding can help her? Please help as I’m so worried that she will have no teeth when she grows older.

Hi, thank you for your question. I’d need to see your daughter in person to really answer this question properly. A tooth bonding system should help, or in the worst case scenario perhaps veneers. Visit a dental phobia certified dentist that can help your daughter feel calm and relaxed, and see what they say regarding treatment based on their assessment of her situation. Best wishes, Marcus Gambroudes.
