Will I Still Be Able to Get Braces?

Q.
Hello. I was offered braces at the age of 13 and went through the whole process of getting them. When it came to the final appointment, I was about to get them but refused to, because I was scared that my bullies would bully me more. But I am now 17 years old and have regretted it ever since. I have been to the dentist and apparently I’m on a waiting list but I’ve been there for almost a year and one lady said that she thinks I won’t get them. But my teeth are moving, I used to have a huge gap but it closed, however one front tooth is now moving behind the other and I’m very insecure when I talk or smile and when anyone is standing on the right side of me to see it. Is it a possibility that I’ll be able to get them, or is it a waste of time?

Hi, thank you for your question. Yes, you will be able to get them, but unfortunately you’ll probably have to pay now. There are plenty of discreet options available now, so it’s worth having a chat about your options with the orthodontist when you get to see them. Kind regards, Andrew.
