Why Is My Tooth Hurting So Much?

Q.
Hi. Earlier this week I had a bad tooth ache so I went to the dental practice and I was told I have to have a tooth removed. I explained to the woman that the pain was constant and I couldn’t lay on the side of my face so she gave me amoxicillin to take for a week. As time has gone on the pain has got worse, and there’s swelling as the tooth is hurting my jaw and is starting to ache. I also have a sharp shooting pain down my whole gum the left side. So the question I wanted to ask was why? My jaw started to hurt and why is the pain spreading down my whole gum?

Hello, thank you for your question. It is very likely you have an infection that is not subsiding and you need to have your tooth removed as advised. Kind regards, Mark.
