Why Am I Getting Pain When I Chew Directly After Root Canal Treatment?

Q.
Hi Andrew, I had my first sitting for a root canal where the dentist cleaned the tooth and canals and he used local anaesthesia. It’s been two days and I am taking antibiotics and pain killers. But the my teeth hurt whenever I chew and the pain comes from temporary filled teeth. Please let me know if this is normal? How do I know whether the root canal done by this dentist is correct? Please help me or advise me on what to do?
Also what can I do to prevent this from happening when I get my crown fitted. Thank you for your help in advance.

Thank you for getting in touch. I would suggest that you pop back to your dentist as the temporary filling might need adjusting, if it doesn’t settle after a week. If you would to learn more information on what the different procedures involve, you can find this through a simple search on this website, this might help to give you peace of mind in the future. I hope this helps you. Regards, Dr Andrew Moore.
