What treatment is required to correct a protruding chin?

Q.
I recently got my teeth aligned with braces. I am wearing my retainers now. I have a protruding chin. I was considering getting it corrected. How is it done? Will the treatment leave any sort of scars?
A.
Dear Enquirer,
In the first instance ask your orthodontist to explain further regarding your facial profile. You will need a thorough assessment to assess if a surgical approach is necessary. Normally, the surgery is undertaken from inside the mouth so there are no external scars.
