What is the treatment time for fixing broken teeth and jaw?

Q.
Mark, I have broken my Jaw and at the moment I have it wired. When I fell I also broke 3 front teeth, which were temporarily repaired. I have 4 weeks to go. I want to have my teeth repaired so i have a fabulous smile again. One other tooth is wobbly and is possibly fractured. I want it done as soon as possible once my jaw is repaired how long will the whole process take. I have a wedding in august.

Hi and thanks for getting in touch

Sounds like you’ve been through a lot!

To answer your question properly I’d really need to see you in person to figure out exactly what options you’d have for treatment. There can be many variables and so it’s impossible to pinpoint exactly the treatment that would be best for you.

In theory treatment could take from a couple of weeks to something more protracted, depending on the severity of the tooth fractures. Dental bonding may be possible and can be quite quick, sometimes ‘same day’ but if porcelain dental restorations like veneers or crowns or required things can take longer.

As your wedding is coming up rapidly I’d suggest you come and let us have a detailed look at you immediately, even before your wires come off, so that some planning can be done. The last thing we both would want is to be rushing things to meet your wedding deadlines!

Hope that helps and I look forward to hopefully meeting you

All the best

Mark

My daughter has a broken jaw and is in recovery at the moment. The break was not noticed for 2 weeks after the initial accident, It is obvious she will need some dental work when she has recovered. How long after a break can dental reconstrution start?
