What is the reason for pain located near veneer?

Q. Hi, I have had dental veneers on my two front teeth for over 20 years and have developed a pain in the region for the past two months. My dentist did Xrays which showed nothing up.He does’nt want to remove the veneers and says the pain is not tooth related.I would like to know how easy it would be to remove the veneers to take a look at the teeth and whether a new set could be put back on.Also, if there is a stress fracture in one of the teeth, can this be fixed.I am extremely worried about this and am scared about how my own teeth now look under the veneers.I would appreciate your views.,
A. you can replace veneers in a relatively simple procedure. It is unusual not to be able to assess the tooth quality in regard of major fractures with the veneers in place. in a few cases an occlusal ( bite) analysis may be more useful to diagnose the cause of the pain. Rob
