What is the difference between orthodontic treatment and cosmetic dentistry?

Q.
What is difference between cosmetic dentist and orthodontist, i am trying to use cosmetic dentist , using six month brace and doctor says its right choice and they r not orthodontist. but i have bit problem, i feel that coz my lower teeth r extremly slanted in due to puss of upper teeth and my jaw bit pressure r mostly exercised in the front teeth. without eating anything if i wanna take bit i won’t feel any bite at back teeth. so i feel its bit problem. can it be solved by cosmetic dentist/ 6 moth smile brace??

I will be glad if i get answer of this question

hi

an orthodontist purely treats patients with braces and nothing else and will be more experienced than a cosmetic dentist in this field.

a cosmetic dentist should be able to apply a wider range of treatment options from different fields that an orthodontist wouldn’t necessarily do, this depends on the experience and training of the cosmetic dentist

6 month smile braces purely treat the anterior teeth and not the back ones, therefore if you are wanting some treatment to the back teeth it is not the most appropriate braces as its focus is on improving the cosmetics of the front teeth not the function.
