What Damage Could 0.01% Sodium Perborate Do To My Teeth?

Q.
Hello Dr Gambroudes. Please can I ask you what damage 0.01% sodium perborate could do to my teeth? I am so confused with the legal aspects and safety and sensitivity.

I would really like to have my teeth whitened professionally, but I have very sensitive teeth already, so I couldn’t stand or bear a procedure that would cause me any excruciating pain in the process. I have been advised that sodium perborate causes no damage whatsoever, and more to my shock as I didn’t think it would be possible, no sensitivity at all during treatment or after? Please could you advise me on this?   Thanks in advance.

A.
Thank you for your question. The sodium perborate at 0.01% should not cause you any damage, but please take advice from your dentist as they will know more about your teeth and what is likely to affect them.  Good luck, Marcus.
