What can be done for jaw problem?

Q. i have experienced ‘Jaw clicking’ for a few years, (left side) on 3 occasions after waking up, it has locked. I have never mentioned it, or discussed it with my dentist, as I have learnt to live with it.During my last check up it was noticed and they recommend a bite guard, I also need a plate (LL 5,6,7)the dentist said this could not be done until the clicking is cured,Could you confirm if this is correct? sadly i do not have much faith in them, during the check up they had a quick look with the mirror, a probe was not used, and no x-ray taken.many thanks,
A. It is difficult for me to give you guidance on your jaw matter without seeing you in person and perhaps performing a few tests.I would be more than happy to see you regarding this. I understand how important it is to find a dentist who you trust.Justin glaisterwww.umbrellasmiles.com
