What are the risks or complications associated with dental bridges?

Q. What are the risks or complications associated with dental bridges?

A. Bridges involve drilling down the teeth on either side of the gap. If the teeth are heavily restores they may end up needing root canal treatment. Also the 2 teeth on either side are supporting the weight of an extra tooth which puts a strain on them.
Bridges last approximately 10 – 15 years. They usually fail because one of the supporting teeth begins to decay as the cement holding the bridge on begins to crack. At this point it may not be possible for the affected tooth to retain a new bridge. This means that the bridge then has to be made longer or implants can be placed.
If you can afford to have an implant now that would be the best option
Kind regards

i got the root canal on my lower right 3rd molar from the end, 7 weeks latter had an infection under the healthy tooth next to the one with root canal. i then find out that my tooth is mobile and should be taken out.( after the root canal i was experiencing an uneven bite). then comes the bridge. now i am ok as long as i dont eat on that side. when i eat, my front teeth are pressing hard, which they never did before.seems as the science of my teeth is screwed.

A number of crowns have been replaced at my local dentist’spractice over the past 24 months. One of them, a CEREC crown keeps causingdiscomfort due to an uneven bite which has been a problem my dentist has been unable to resolve in the course of several sessions. I am looking for adentist who is able to fine-tune the crown to a degree that allows me to bite as prior to treatment At this stage I would prefer a consultation and treatment of the crown described. Depending on the result, I do prefer to not have another diagnostic oral examination including x-rays. Please let me know whether this is possible
