Unsure about lower denture

Q. Hello Dr. Moore My bottom “Front Teeth”, 4… are separated by “TWO” extractions from the middle, I assume that you can imagine my appearance…that of a “Bulldog” somewhat? To make matters worse, they protrude to the point of making my lips protrude as well, which I hate. I will eventually be getting partial dentures for top and bottom. My upper front 4 teeth are out, they were very loose, these protruded even more than the bottoms. The remaining teeth will obviously be used to anchor the dentures. My concern is, the “Front Teeth” in the upper FRONT denture will of course be relatively straight, but the bottom 4 “separated original teeth” protrude… What procedure will the Dentist use to align up the bottom and top dentures? With the exception of the “two upper canines” plus the adjacent tooth behind each one and”ONE”lower back root canal that’s all the teeth I have left… oh’ yeah’… and the bottom 4 protruders! At my age “70” I sure don’t want braces. I was originally going to have them all out and get implants… HA’ until I learned it would cost a small fortune? A dentist I used for the consultation at the time said your face will look or BE LONGER??? So, needless-to-say, I’m looking for a 2nd opinion…what say you regarding my dilemma? I thank you whole heartedly and hope your return email will ease my mind? …Ohh’ one last thing, should I expect to pay “EXTRA for this? Regards,,
A. It sounds like to might be worth including the protruding lower front teeth on your new lower partial denture, that way you would be able to get the alignment of the lower teeth correct and then the subsequent alignment of the upper front teeth on the denture will be straight too.
