The enamel is wearing at the tops of my teeth, what can I do?

Q.
I havefor some time noticed that I am losing enamel from the top of my top teeth near the gum line. This is now becoming more pronounced and of some concern although eeth so far have not discoloured or causing any sensitivity, I am concerned about the long term effect.
I am been advised by a local dentist to have fillings in the top of my teeth although I am concerned about this.
Is this the only option or are there other options. I thought I had read about an enamel replacement treatment.
Many thanks
A.
Hello and thanks for your questions

There can be many reasons for loss of enamel at the top of teeth and it would be important to try to ascertain the cause of the problem first, before deciding on the most appropriate course of action for you.

There are likewise many different ways to treat the problem, depending on the severity and the cause of the issue.

It would be impossible for me to give you an accurate answer without seeing you face to facce and figuring out what’s best for you. I’d advise you seek advice from a very good local cosmetic dentist first or by all means come and see me in my Harley Street practice and I can help you out with a second opinion

Kind regards

Mark
