My teeth have now become overcrowded and need re-aligning could veneer be a option?

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009
Q.
I had a brace when I was 13 but my teeth have now become overcrowded and need re-aligning as a result of my wisdom teeth coming through. I recently went to an orthodontist to think about getting a brace and he’s told me that I have short roots and he wouldn’t recommend braces for me. I’d like to know any other options that I have. Are braces totally out of the question? Could I have veneers? Many thanks in advance.

i had overcrowding and why is my premolar removed instead of wisdom would it alter my face

Monday, May 11th, 2009
Q.
Hi, I am 27 years old and recently had 4 teeth removed (pre molars)in order to have braces put on. After reading online, some say teeth should never have to be removed. I did have overcrowding and all my life dentist did tell me if I was ever to get braces, teeth would need to be removed. I guess my questions are: Why remove premolars instead of wisdom? Does it really alter my face? And, the average human should have 32 teeth, now i only have 26. Should I be worried? Is it common to have that many teeth removed?

when my wisdom teeth was removed i developed a type of humming in my ear please help

Friday, May 8th, 2009
Q.
Hi there I have had an impacted wisdom tooth for a while now. It had got infected a few times and in December again but I slowly coincidently noticed I developed a type of humming in my ear on the same side. I accepted it was a type of tinnitus but it disappeared overnight when my wisdom tooth was removed. The hole hasn’t healed (4 weeks on) and the humming is back. What should I do and is this a common problem. It’s affecting my sleep, such that i’m up now at 2.30am. Please help.

my upper left wisdom tooth has decayed what is the option implant or be crowned

Monday, May 4th, 2009
Q.
I’m 47 and have had a phobia of dentists since I was 12. At this time I had four upper teeth extracted for orthodontic work. Unfortunately this left me with gaps in my upper teeth, not quite big enough for crowns. For the last 25 years I have gone every six months to a dentist I trust and have had some cosmetic work (mainly white fillings) I have always wanted a perfect smile, but my teeth seem healthy for my age (although some are quite heavily filled) and the whole effect is reasonably OK, and so I’ve put up with the gaps. Recently my upper left wisdom tooth has decayed and might need to be removed. Could you advise me what would be the best option? Could the root of this wisdom tooth be crowned, or would an implant be possible? Although not wealthy, I would be able to afford to pay for the work needed. The other problem is that I think my dentist, although professional and pleasant, is unlikely to understand my wish for cosmetic work because of my age. Your advice would be very welcome.

Should I get my wisdom teeth out first and then get braces on my upper teeth again?

Saturday, April 18th, 2009
Q.
I have had braces when I was younger and have permanent bonding at the back of my teeth to keep them in place. However, I have 4 impacted wisdom teeth that seem to be pushing against my other teeth, and now my one front tooth is longer than the other. My orthodontist doesn’t understand how this could have happened because my lingual bonding is intact. What should I do to correct this? Should I get my wisdom teeth out first and then get braces on my upper teeth again?
