I’m Experiencing Pain From A Stronger Tooth Whitening Gel Than I’m Used Too, Could It Be Lasting Damage?

Monday, September 16th, 2013
Q.

Hello, I whitened my teeth yesterday evening using a 16% gel which I bought from my dentist. I usually use a 10% gel and a different brand and have never had any problems with sensitivity in the past. Following yesterday’s procedure which lasted only 40 minutes, I’m experiencing a great deal of ‘crackling/zinging’ type of pain in my teeth and I’ve been unable to sleep. It’s been just over 24 hours now with not much improvement in the pain and I’m just wondering if I may have caused permanent damage to my teeth? Is there anything I can do to alleviate the symptoms or will they go away on their own? Thanks.

I Want To Know How Well The Enlighten Deep Cleaning System Works And Whether It Affects Thin Enamel?

Wednesday, September 11th, 2013
Q.

Hello, Dr Moore, I have quite a few questions I need to ask you about the enlighten deep bleaching system. Does the enlighten deep bleaching system work on patients with thinning enamel? Also could you tell me how well does it bleaches dentine? Will they experience more sensitivity? How much change should a patient expect to see in the final hours session within the surgery? If teeth are not very white by this stage, will it have a significant effect? Thank you, I hope you can provide me with an answer.

I’m suffering from great pain after receiving the Enlighten whitening treatment, when will the pain subside?

Q.

Hi Dr Moore, can you answer my question for me? Just started using enlighten and after only the second day I am getting like electric shock pain in two teeth – one top and one bottom at front. I have never had pain like this before and whilst i expected sensitivity these pains are short but so unbelievably painful. I’ve been rubbing the de-sensitizer toothpaste on these teeth all day in work and it hasn’t stopped these intermittent pains. No one told me this could happen and I went to a dentist that specialises in whitening with a good reputation and paid £500 for this treatment. I don’t know if I can carry on – will it stay the same, get worse and last after treatment – can you help.
thanks
