Would it be possible to pull the teeth and put in implant denture on the same day

Monday, August 3rd, 2009
Q.
I am 55 and only have 5 front teeth on top and 1 back tooth and each side on the bottom. I am not worried about getting the top denture, but I have a tiny bone ridge on the bottom. Except for the 2 teeth to extract, the others have been out for a year. When I go can they pull the 2 teeth and put in the implant denture on the same day. I thought they you may have to have the teeth pulled and let the gum heal before they will do an implant denture. Please tell me if it can be done. Thanks

Ive a decay under the mid left lower tooth is there any other option other than extraction

Saturday, August 1st, 2009
Q.
Hi, I have decay deep under the mid left lower tooth caused by biting into food and it remaining trapped. An xray was taken showing the shadow. My dentist has stated that extraction is the only answer as it would be impossible to seal as it’s below the gum line and moisture would disolve any works. She suggests a denture. Implants are out of the question due to the expense. She has done excellent root canal work on the other side of my mouth so this work does not faze her. She said this would not be an option in this case. Can you suggest something? I am loath to remove a healthy tooth that I tend to bite on. I do not have any lower back teeth on that side so its important that I try to keep it. I am on anti biotics in the meantime. Thank you. Regards

My upper teeth is getting extracted and im scared to death can u help?

Saturday, August 1st, 2009
Q.
Hi Dr Moore, I am a 57 year old Black-American female with what has been diagnosed as MS. As a child I never went to the dentist and did very little to take care of my teeth besides brushing. Now I need teeth and am contemplating having all my upper teeth extracted and getting a plate and a bridge. My concern is not only that I’m scared to death, but will I be able to tolerate the surgery, recover and that they won’t pull out my brains, memory what strength I do have with the teeth? Can you help? Sincerely,

Which one is the best crowns or to extract teeth and get implants

Wednesday, July 29th, 2009
Q.
Hello, Dr. My dentist is wanting to crown tooth 31 and tooth 18. Tooth thirty one currently has a large filling in it, however, the filling is several years old and the rear part of the tooth is chipped off. Which I did not know. He advised me that after looking at the xray that the decay seems to be close to the nerve and asked me if I had experienced any pain? Which I have not. My question is ,I do not have 1500.00 dollars just lying around to put crowns on both teeth. Would it be best to extract tooth 31 and 18 and later have a implant put in its place or would it be best to try and get some sort of finacing for the crowns? I have had frequent dental work over the y ears since I was a child. I am 34 years old. I feel as if sometimes my dentist does not do enough preventive care and just waits for the high dollar jobs to come around to make more profit on my teeth.

How long should I wait after the dental root extraction before the implant could be inserted?

Friday, July 24th, 2009
Q.
How long should I wait after the dental root extraction before the implant could be inserted? I am a generally healthy 37 year old and the X-ray of the area was normal. Would a pregnancy be a contraindication for the procedure? Are Straumann implants a good choice? Thank you very much.

Im 20 and having major dental damage due to decay should i go through with 8 extractions?

Monday, July 20th, 2009
Q.
Hi I just went to a local dentist last week. The dental team took x-rays. I have known for awhile my teeth aren’t in good condition due to major decay-I have a fear of the dentist. So what the team told me wasn’t much of a surprise. The dentist recommends I go to an oral surgeon for 8 molar extractions. This isn’t even counting my wisdom teeth that are beginning to break through. I’m only 20 years old and I find all of this to be very tramatizing already. I dread going to a surgeon to have 8 teeth removed at once as this dentist suggested. I’m sure my mouth is full of infection. I feel pain occasionally. I go back to the dentist for a filling for another tooth tomorrow. My question is at my age (20) and having major dental damage due to decay should I go through with 8 extractions? Please let me know.
