Hello Dr Hughes, I have 3 or 4 teeth on the bottom front that are not straight and two are being pushed out a little. I also have a little tartar build up on the back front teeth. Someone told me if I wore a retainer it would help straighten them out, is this true? What will the dentist do about my problem? What is the best toothpaste and mouthwash to use for sensitive teeth? It is crazy because in my family for some reason teeth are not very strong. I floss and brush and I seem to still have some problem here and there. Thank you for your time.

What Is The Best Toothpaste And Mouthwash To Use For Sensitive Teeth?
Wednesday, February 12th, 2014I’ve Been Checked Over Recently And Since Then I Noticed One Of My Gums Was A Blueish, Grey Colour. What Has Caused This?
Friday, January 3rd, 2014 Hi Mark,
I’ve just been to the dentist to get my teeth checked and cleaned. No apparent issues. I noticed since then one of gums is a really blueish, grey colour.
It was a little off colour after I got a veneer years ago but seemed to improve now it’s really noticeable and I feel really embarrassed over it. I don’t smoke and if it was gum disease, surely my dentist would have told me. What should I do? Do you know what could be causing this? Thanks.
Kind regards.
I’ve Not Been To The Dentist For 20 Years And My Teeth Are Becoming Discoloured. Does This Mean I Have An Underlying Problem?
Tuesday, December 17th, 2013Hi, I was wondering if you could help me. I havent been to the dentist for 20 years so a little bit worried about going. I have noticed of late I have a back tooth that is very sensitive and causing issues when I am chewing. I also have 1 wisdom tooth that doesn’t look great it looks really discoloured and another which hasn’t yet come through but you can see it. I am starting to get worried about my teeth as they all seem to look a little discoloured these days. Does discolouration mean I have bad teeth. Please help.
Regards.
I Suffer From Gum Disease And Gaps Are Appearing From Tartar Building Up. Would A Bridge Work For Me?
Thursday, November 7th, 2013Hello Dr Shaffie, I have been told I have quite bad gum disease but I do clean and floss regular but have always suffered from bad gums and as a result I have widening gaps at the front top four teeth.
I am having cleaning to remove tartar and build up this coming week. I really want to get my smile back.
What are my options would a bridge be okay once the gum disease has been addressed? If so what’s the time frame for this type of procedure?
Thank you in advance for any information you can provide me with.
Is it really necessary for me to have gum grafting treatment?
Tuesday, December 11th, 2012Hello Dr Bohara. I recently visited the dentist and she said since my gums are receding I would need gum grafting. She said bonding could not be done since the teeth would appear longer. Since these teeth are in the back of my mouth where noone can notice, I want to avoid the pain and healing of gum grafts. It has been years since I’ve seen a dentist since I had no insurance. I have no pain except from slight sensitivity where the gums have receded, otherwise nothing. It’s more of a cosmetic issue, I’ve had worse from shaving! Also, is a deep cleaning necessary since it’s been so long? I have tartar build-up on my lower front teeth. Thanks for the help!
