I had an upper front tooth crown on a post which became loose so my dentist lengthened it. It became loose and on removing it the root fractured. He is now going to remove the root and put a denture in its place . This seemed a good option so my gum can heal to enable implant at later date, if I dont like the denture. [decided against the bridge as too evasive. My question is why does the root need removing. We dont remove them when we have a tooth extracted, and does the root need removing whichever treatment I decide.,
