How Would I Go About Having My Front Teeth Replaced?

Thursday, July 21st, 2016
Q.

Hi. I want to get my 2 front teeth taken out and fake ones put in. My 2 front teeth stick out, so I want them out and two false ones to replace them so they are straight. How much would I be looking at and how do I go about it? Could I get this done in one sitting? I hate my teeth and need them doing as soon as possible. Also, can you be put to sleep? Because don’t like the thought of being awake when getting my teeth pulled out. Thank you.

How Strong are Replacement Teeth, and How Long Should They Last?

Tuesday, September 16th, 2014
Q.

Dear Dr Gambroudes. How strong are replacement teeth? Also, how long are expected to last? I had one of my wisdom teeth replaced, but it came loose and fell out after two years. Now I only eat with the left side of my mouth. I feel very uncomfortable with the tooth missing, what should I do? I feel that I should replace it to enable me feel comfortable and enjoy my meals. I will also want to change my dentist.
I will also want to know how often one needs to visit the dentist so as to take care of the teeth before any problems occur. What is cosmetic teeth surgery? How often should one go for teeth cleaning? Thank you.

Monday, January 23rd, 2012
Q.

Hi, I am writing on behalf of my mum she has gum disease and has been told that her gums are not fit for implants, the gums are also receeding some of her teeth have started to fall out others are very loose and she is struggling eating much because she fears her teeth will fall out. So we just wanted to know what her options are, she has a vey sensitive pallete and she doesn’t know whether she would be able to wear dentures due to her wretching. Hopefully you will be able to shed a bit of light as it is really distressing my mum. Thank you.

Are there any cost effective replacement options as good as dental implants?

Monday, November 28th, 2011
Q.

Our dentist has suggested dental implants for my wife who is 70 years of age. Dentist says that her gums are in good shape and will hold the implants. She needs three implants in upper and lower gums. My concern is age and post-menoposal stage. Howevere she has no bad post-monoposal signs and symptoms and not diabetic. What do you advise? We know our dentist for long time and trust him but I am looking for second opinion as the procedure is costly.

Can I have new dentures or do I have to stick with my old ones until they wear out?

Monday, March 28th, 2011
Q.

Hi, on 04-11-2011, I am scheduled to have a sinus lift bone graft on upper for lack of bone desity from past dentures. They are then after/during healing of bone graft (using human cadaver bone) to start 4 on 1 implants upper & lower. Here is my question. The integrity of my ‘Full Mouth’ dentures I have now are in need of replacement. The dentist wants to use the old dentures & keep them ‘going’ until all the bone graft & bottom-top (?) implants are placed. My concern is not only financial, but visual appearance. I do not know what the new dentures would look like. To me it makes more sence to get the bone graph, then to have new needed full dentures made (even if temporary until permanent ones are made). Then to have the implants placed. If this is done I will know how to go about planning for the expiture of having all this done without having any insurance to rely on. I am spending all my savings on this & making financial choices to make this happen. I will be 54 in Sept 2011, physically healthy & weight propotioned, if that even matters & right now on a fixed income. Hightlight my question. I have had these unfittly dentures for over 9 years. They are attractive, but have already broke in half on the bottom & I had to have a front tooth reglued on top because it fell out (eating a soft meal). Performed by a dentist. The denist has been putting tempory lining in to keep them fitted for now, they are very loose./ Another worry is more bone loss while waiting. I need someone impartial to help me understand why the dentist & perio dentist are not on the same page with this. The perio doctor said he would want new dentures if it were him. I asked him what he would want if it were him. Also if something goes wrong I will atleast have a set of complete good dentures until a solution can be resolved. My apologies for the length of this question, but I am sure I am not the only one in desperate need for a somewhat optional answer. You would indeed be of service to many for any answer to my ignorance in this & lack of knowledge with an answer/ question in this circumstance… Desperate in Midwest USA. and thank you for any help for me, in making the best decision I can.
