I finished root canal treatment yesterday, after checking the xray, a tiny bit at the very top of the root has been missed, this morning it feels the same as it did at the beginning before ant treatment began.I ,ve had 1 weeks course of antibiotics,it was cleaned out as this was being done it was very smelly and the pulp had rotted away. It was covered & i went back 9 days later,it stil felt odd sort of tingly numb feeling & the smell was back. When it was being recleaned yesterday i could smell it again it was also a bit swollen and tender at the top, she finshed the job & then checked the xray where it was noticed a tiny bit has been missed, she seemed to think it would be fine i have to go back in 10 days, but at the minute it feels the same as it did right at the beginning about 6 weeks now

Should I be worried about continued dental pain after root canal treatment?
Monday, April 2nd, 2012I have had laser treatment for a gap between my teeth but am in great pain
Thursday, March 15th, 2012Well I had a piece of muscle tissue in my mouth that cause a gap between my teeth. I have braces and the two front teeth closed, but it hurt. I went to my dentist appointment and he told me he had to remove that piece of tissue. So today i went and had my laser oral surgery, and afterwards the pain was too much. when will the pain go away and when will it heal because i’m in too much pain and i’m confused plus it hurts to bad?
Has the root canal treatment failed?
Thursday, January 26th, 2012 I had a 2nd root canal treatment on my upper-right molar, 6 months ago. I have been experiencing mild pain and discomfort ever since and it’s getting worse. Everytime I bite on the tooth, floss and brush my teeth I feel mild pain. The gum surrounding the tooth feels tender. My inside my right nostril also feels watery when I bite on the tooth. I went to my Dentist 3 months ago and had an x-ray but it didn’t show any signs of infection.
I would like to know if my symptoms are a sign that the RCT has failed? Also is the wetness in my nose connected to my tooth? Thank you
I am experiencing pain under one of my new veneers, should I be worried?
Monday, November 28th, 2011Hi,
I had two porcelain veneers on my canine teeth a month ago. I had a problem with the bite but the dentist did some filing at it all seemed well. However the last 10 days I have been getting pain in one of the veneers, which is sore to touch and also alot of pain moving around that side of my jaw. I went to the dentist and she said i need a root canal she didnt do any X-rays.
Do you think the pain may settle down? The pain comes and goes.
Also wondering why it only started a few weeks after treatment too.
Many thanks
I am having extreme pain in a tooth that has just been cleaned, what should I do?
Monday, November 28th, 2011I have extreme tooth pain after a pulpectomy/pulpotomy – I thought the pulp was cleaned out, why does my tooth still hurt so badly? It is a throbbing, aching pain, and the tooth is sensitive to to touch, biting etc., but the pain is still present without touching the tooth at all. I am waiting for a root canal to be completed, and have a temporary filling on the tooth. I had a cavity that was eating at the nerve in my tooth (which was broken in half). I had the pulpectomy/pulpotomy 4 days ago.
I have lost most of my teeth but cannot afford the cost of dental work, what can I do?
Monday, October 17th, 2011Hi, I am wondering if you know of any places or if people ever do pro bono work. I am 38, have lost almost all my teeth, have barely any gums left and am always having headaches and at times extreme pain due to broken teeth. I never feel good and I believe its due to my mouth. I can barely chew food any more which is causing stomach issues now. i am in the Asheville area of NC and am a mom to a k and a 1st grader and a wife. I dont want to die early and live with this embarrassement anymore cause I know I have a wonderful life to live for. Im so tired of living like this and we dont have money so I havent visited a dentist in probably 20 years. Any ideas or suggestions would be so appreciated
I have a pain in my tooth after having old metal filling replaced with a new white one.
Monday, September 19th, 2011 Hi I am running into a dental nightmare with a tooth and feeling i need some answers from someone i would trust that i am doing the right thing!
Not enough space on this box!
3 months pain and over 10 visit to dentist!
Long story short. Had old filling replaced with a white one, next day pain round the gum on eating not on bitting. went back Said food impation as the filling was made less proud for better care of the tooth and now the gum aggrivated. lots of mouth care flossing etc Progressed to filling been re shaped to previous style to stop some of the impaction, still no help to shooting pain when food hit the gum. Pain slowly got worse to traveling along my jaw and waking me up at night. Xray showed nothing. Given anitbiotics. then filling taken out and packed. Pain still in the jaw so he went for the root as could see no other possible cause! only to find 2 roots, left for a week and just had another look for Root number 3 which he cant find but now informs me i have a crack and now need a crown! But cant do a crown until he knows if i need to see a specialist for root number 3 and in the mean time i may crack my tooth and loose the whole thing!!! Is it important to find the last root or for some people is there never one???? Not sure if to pay to see specialist before my tooth splits or sit and wait for a few months as has been suggested!
My gut feeling is i had gum infection as it never has caused any pain in impaction or bitting hard and maybe antibiotics may have stopped it getting into the roots. Any addvice much appreciated!

My straight teeth are now crossed over due to gum disease, what can I do?
Tuesday, August 23rd, 2011 Hello Dr Bohara, My teeth which were once straight have moved, the front ones now crossover and their is a gap further back on either ide which is visible when I smile and where the teeth have moved forward and my dentist tells me that this is because I have bone loss and also an element of gum disease. It is difficult to clean my teeth properly now, also difficuilt to eat as I am not used to my teeth as they are.,biting an apple is impossible and I often bite my lip.
Can anything be done to correct this and make me confident to smile again? I am 59 years of age.
My fixed retainer is hurting, what could be the cause of this?
Wednesday, August 17th, 2011Dear Dr. Verma
Near the end of my treatment, a bonded retainer was permanently attached to my lower teeth from canine to canine two decades ago. I never had any problems with it until recently. A few days ago, I went to a dentist for a regular cleaning. After the scaling, I noticed that there was some discomfort between my lower two front teeth – it felt like there was something stuck in between there. I addressed this issue with the dentist, but she cannot find the reason for my discomfort, and she also claimed she did not damage my wire.
It has been three days since my cleaning, and I am now experiencing some mild soreness around the retainer area (ie. the same type of tightness one would feel when a wire is changed on one’s braces), especially near the left canine and the neighbouring incisor. Chewing gum and eating vegetables is a bit painful. I cannot find any damage, but is it possible for my wire to have been bent during cleaning? Has this ever happen to other patients of yours, and if so, what was done about it? Can an orthodontist, who has never seen me before, know if my bonded retainer is damaged or not? Or, can there be a different reason for my symptoms?
(For clarification: the wire is held in place by a dop of glue on each tooth)
Thank you for taking the time out to read my email. I am a bit anxious at the moment since I do not want my teeth to become misaligned again. I look forward to your reply.
Sincerely,
