What Kind of Treatment is Best for Closing Gaps in the Teeth?

Friday, January 23rd, 2015
Q.

Hello Dr Hughes. My teeth have all got gaps in between them, on both the top and bottom sets of teeth. I would like to get my teeth put together as fast as it could be. So I was wondering what treatment would I need and how much do you think it would cost? Adding to this, I was considering what type of pain would I be going through and how long would the surgery take, would it be weeks or days? Thank you, please get back to me.

Where Can I Go for Orthodontic Treatment?

Wednesday, January 21st, 2015
Q.

Hello. I started to visit a dentist about year and a half ago and was told I had to go into hospital to have a tooth out before starting orthodontic treatment. Since I had this tooth removed, I’ve got no further with starting treatment and have just been pushed from pillar to post, visiting 3-4 different dentists and paying for consultations and x-rays but getting no further. I’m 44 years old and don’t want go leave it too late. I really hope you can help me or advise me about where I can go. It’s been quite upsetting time as i feel no one wants too help me. I’ve got a big family wedding in two and a half years time, so I would really like to start treatment as soon as possible. Thank you.

What’s the Most Natural, Non-Invasive Way to Close a Gap Between the Teeth?

Thursday, October 30th, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Hughes. I had braces before, but had them removed. During my treatment, my dentist had stripped between my from front two teeth as it was bigger than the next tooth. But after the removal, we felt that although the gap was filled, the bonding between the teeth is still not complete. I mean there is a small surface gap still visible.  I am worried about it and want to fix it in the most natural, non-invasive way possible. Kindly help, thank you.

Do I Need Dental Surgery to Correct My Protruding, Gapped Teeth?

Thursday, October 30th, 2014
Q.

Hi, Dr Hughes. My age is 24, and I am male. My upper incisors are not straight, they protrude forward. There is also gap between my incisor and my canine. What can be done to correct it? Is there any dental surgery? Also, I have one doubt in my mind. My grandmother died from oral cancer, will surgery affect any prospect of developing cancer of the mouth?
Can I wear braces at my age? In my childhood I wore braces, at that time there was lot of improvement but it has become embarrassing again now. What would be the correct treatment for me?

Would Invisalign Work on a Tooth That Sticks Out?

Monday, September 22nd, 2014
Q.

Hello there Dr Gambroudes. I have three crowns on my front teeth on the top row. One of these teeth sticks out noticeably and is gradually getting worse and worse. I am extremely self conscious about the way it looks when I talk and smile. I have seen my dentist, who suggests a denture. I also have had an orthodontist referral with impressions taken of my teeth. The orthodontist seems to think train track metal braces will lead me to needing to have the crowns replaced, which puts me off that idea. Would Invisalign work for me in this

situation? Thank you, I hope you can answer me.

What is the Best Treatment for Severely Misaligned Teeth?

Thursday, September 18th, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Hughes. What can I do about my situation? I have an extremely misaligned teeth, and it’s very embarrassing to smile. How much would it cost to get my misaligned teeth straightened? My teeth look like a zigzag road on both the top and the bottom, and I really think I’d need an extreme makeover to transform my smile. What am I supposed to do to achieve this? I’m  28 years old, and I’d ideally like a short-term teeth-straightening solution. The problem is, I don’t know if I can afford the cost of that kind of straightening treatment. what would you suggest the best treatment for me would be? Thanks.

My Daughter Is Four And Two Of Her Teeth Have Grown Slanted. What Could The Reason For This Be. Is This Anything To Worry About?

Friday, August 29th, 2014
Q.

My daughter who is 4 years old now has two 2 lower inward slanting teeth. All her other teeth are normal. What could be the reason for this? Is this something to worry about?
She got her first teeth exactly when she turned 1 year old. Two lower teeth are slanting inwards face-to-face. When we consulted with a paediatrician, they told us that there was nothing to worry about. I haven’t consulted a dentist yet. I look forward to hearing your reply.

I Am About To Have Braces And Surgery To Correct An Open Bite. I’d Like To Know If There Are Any Methods Of Curing Tongue Thrusts Also?

Friday, January 3rd, 2014
Q.

Hi Dr Hughes, I’m 17 and I have an open bite. I am about to get braces on in preparation the have the surgery to improve this problem. However one of the orthodontists I visited said he could not help me due to the problem being caused by my tongue (this was before I was considered for surgery). None of the other orthodontists I have seen have mentioned my tongue so I was wondering if I should mention it to them however I don’t want them to be like the first orthodontist and say they can’t do anything about it. Do you know any methods to get rid of tongue thrust? Thank you in advance for any advice you can provide me with.
