Should I Get Invisalign or a Standard Retainer?

Monday, October 17th, 2016
Q.

I had braces from the end of middle school to the middle of my high school years. I lost my retainer about 2 years later and just never got a new one because my teeth never moved or changed. I just turned 22 and noticed my gap in my 2 front teeth is coming back, so I went back to my orthodontist, he told me that my gap is returning and my teeth are starting to go inward and he suggested either Invisalign or a standard retainer. I am not sure which one is best, do you have any advice?

Should We Still Go Ahead with My Daughter’s Tooth Extractions?

Friday, May 20th, 2016
Q.

My daughter aged 13 was just diagnosed with Bell’s palsy. She has braces and has a scheduled appointment to have two teeth extracted to make room for more. I am wondering if she should continue with the appointment and the extractions due to the Bell’s? Will extracting teeth make her Bell’s worse? Please help if you can. Sincerely a very worried mom. She has had a rough time as it is and I don’t want to make it worse for her, but I also don’t want to prolong the years of the braces that she has to wear. Your help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

What Orthodontic Procedures Would Work for an Inward Growing Tooth?

Wednesday, July 22nd, 2015
Q.

Hello. I have a retainer to straighten a crooked tooth, but now it has lost its strength and the tooth has gone back to being crooked. The tooth was crooked because it grew behind a milk tooth. This milk tooth had failed to come out and the permanent tooth had no space but to grow behind it. The milk tooth was eventually removed but the permanent tooth replacing it had already grown inward. I want it to be straightened again. The retainer was placed in 2002. Which orthodontic procedures do you recommend? Thank you.

Is There a Quick Option to Straighten Two Teeth?

Thursday, May 21st, 2015
Q.

Hello,

I have used Invisalign to align my teeth but the upper front 2 incisors are not perfectly aligned. As I do not want to have another round of Invisalign, is there another quick option just to make these 2 teeth a bit more straight? Also, could you kindly advise if Lumineers could be a solution or are they too thin? I do not want to affect the teeth so I’m not interested in veneers.
Thank you and best regards.

Would an Inman Aligner Straighten My Teeth?

Friday, May 15th, 2015
Q.

Hello. My front two teeth are pushed out, they do not stick out over my lower lip or out my mouth but it does bother me and I can’t smile properly in photos because I don’t like my smile. My lower front teeth are also slightly crooked. Would an Inman Aligner be of any use to me? I’m very unsure on the use of braces, as  I don’t like the idea of them. I’m 17, and my teeth lower my confidence significantly. I am also scared of needles and tooth extractions, which is the reason I refused braces when I was younger. Thank you.

Can the NHS Help Me With Funding for Braces?

Thursday, April 23rd, 2015
Q.

Hi. I am 24 years old and my top teeth are a mess. They stick out and when I was younger I used to get bullied because of it. It’s made my life hell, I have tried speaking to my dentist they have referred me to different orthodontists and they want £1,900. There is no way can I afford that sort of money for braces, I’m a full time mum on income support, does the NHS not help because I am older? I am so self conscious I never take pictures with my kids because I do not smile, it really gets me down and I can’t get to communicate with other mums at my son’s nursery because I feel people stare at me.

Can My Protruding Teeth be Treated Without Braces?

Tuesday, February 17th, 2015
Q.

Hello. I am a 20 year old girl. My front top four teeth face outward and slanted. They are bigger than usual teeth and also have no gap between them. I cannot close my mouth completely when I smile. My pictures do not look good because of this. Is there any dental procedure to make them right so that my front teeth can face inward and I can smile properly? It should be without the involvement of braces and less expensive. If so then please answer my question. Thank you.

What Treatment is Required for Teeth That Stick Out?

Monday, February 16th, 2015
Q.

Hello there. I have two front teeth sticking out like vampire teeth, so what treatment will I require? Will I have to get them pulled out? Will I have a twin blocker or what? Please do not say to consult your doctor, just tell me from your experience what you think.

Also what will it cost to get invisible braces? I am under 18.  How long will it take for my teeth to settle down? Thank you.  Please reply as soon as possible since I am very scared of getting braces.

How Can I Correct a Rotated Incisor?

Friday, February 13th, 2015
Q.

Hi. All my teeth are perfect except my left lateral incisor, which is slightly rotated. It very much bugs me. What can I do about this? My dentist said they wont give me any braces as it’s ‘minor’, but I really want something to help my tooth go back to its normal state of place. Thanks for any help, I would really appreciate it. If it helps, I’m nearly 15 and my teeth are all healthy. Could I get a retainer or something? Or what can I say to my dentist about this? Many thanks.

Which Braces are the Best and Most Affordable to Treat a Relapsed Tooth?

Friday, February 6th, 2015
Q.

Since I was around nine or ten, until I was around 15, I had different types of braces to move my teeth and had extractions too. After having fixed braces and using the retainer for around a year the retainer broke and I couldn’t get an appointment for a while so one of my teeth, on the top right hand side between my front tooth and canine, has moved back from the rest, which are still straight. I would like to have braces just on the top to correct this. Which ones would be best and the most affordable, as I am 18 and a uni student? Thank you.
