I Have A Missing Canine Tooth. Would A Six Month Smile Solution Be Applicable To My Dental Condition?

Monday, August 18th, 2014
Q.

Hi Dr Hughes, I would like a smile makeover as I don’t like my front teeth. They stick out and I have a missing lower canine and incisor tooth. I am always self conscious about them and embarrassed. I tend to cover my mouth when I speak. I would like to get braces and wanted information on the type of braces available to me as an adult especially the six month smiles? I would like to know if it is possible to get this treatment with missing teeth.
Thank you.

I Have Four Front Teeth Missing And Would Like To Know My Denture Options As I’m Getting Married Next Year?

Friday, August 15th, 2014
Q.

Hi Dr Moore. I have had my 4 front upper teeth missing for a number of years now. I had bad teeth ever since I was a child and my 2 back teeth each side on lower(wisdom) are also missing. What options have I got as I don’t know which denture treatment I need and the costs as I’m self employed? They get me down and I need to do something about them as I want to get married in the next year and want to be able to smile. My teeth are bad and I feel ashamed to go to local dentist. Thanks.

I Don’t Like The Shape And Colour Of My Teeth. Is It A Good Idea To Get Them Replaced By Dental Implants?

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2014
Q.

Can I get or do I need dental implants if I don’t like my teeth? I have the money and I am prepared for the surgery it’s just I don’t like the look of them. There’s nothing wrong that I know of with them other than the shape and colour. Even after I brush them or should I just get them shaped and whitened? What would be the best option? When I was little my teeth kept falling out like I’d lose one then another two later but now I’m older it doesn’t happen. My dad had to get his taken out and dental implants put in because his fell out when he was little and then again and then later in life so I don’t know if I would have the same problem. I don’t want to get older and have no teeth or missing ones in my mouth. Thank you.

My Teeth Are Misaligned And Caused Me Pain In My Back And Neck. Why Is This?

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2014
Q.

Doc, I have a big problem my front teeth
2 teeth. They have been missing for many years and just a year ago I started to use braces to fix my problem but it really causes me problems with pain on the right side face, which is unaligned to the left. Perhaps this is because my right teeth have shifted to the left and that there is not enough room. I feel my back and neck is aching and my body seems not aligned as well as it was. Has this got anything to do with the misalignment of my teeth? I lose my balance sometimes when I walk because my right knee aches. Please help me so that I would know what to do. Thank you.

Some Of My Teeth Are Missing And Rotting Away. Do You Have Any Advice On This Matter?

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Gambroudes. I recently realised I have really poor teeth and wish to correct them. This is mainly due to my diet and genetics and I’ve fell into the mind set of having all of my teeth replaced with gold veneers as I only have twenty five left. This is because gold is solid and will not scratch easily. Some teeth are missing and others are damaged or rotting away. Do you have any advice on this matter? And can you help me!

I also wish to know how much the procedure will amount to and how it all works so I am in a comfortable frame of mind when entering this process.

Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing back from you.

Kind regards.

Is It Possible To Have A Two Unit Bridge By Using A Small Molar As Support? I Have A Missing Tooth.

Tuesday, June 24th, 2014
Q.

Dear Dentist. I have a missing tooth with a (hopefully) healthy small molar on one side of the gap and an old crown that I would not like to be fiddled with on the other side of the gap.
Is it possible to have a two unit bridge to fill this gap by using just the small molar as support? I do not like the sound of a Maryland Bridge but would a Cantilever Bridge be possible in my case?

Thank you very much for any information you may have.

My Mum Has A Bad Phobia Of Dentists. Can She Get Help From Anywhere?

Tuesday, May 13th, 2014
Q.

Hi Mark. My mum is 49 and she has got a real bad phobia of dentists due to her brother struggling to come round after having a tooth out as a kid. Now she’s lost most of her teeth and suffering from severe depression and she never leaves the house. She is on benefits. Can she get help from anywhere? I just want her to live her life not hide away. She has never had her photo taken and rarely smiles. She hasn’t been to a dentist since she was 9 years old. Thanks.

Is It Possible To Have A Bridge To Replace Two Missing Teeth? My Dentist Thinks The Gap Is Too Big.

Wednesday, April 16th, 2014
Q.

Hi Mark. I have two missing teeth at the side and 3 crowns at the front. I have been told I can’t have a bridge to replace the two missing teeth. Is that right? My dentist said I have too big of a gap for a bridge to be fitted. But I know people that have had a full top row of teeth fitted onto a bridge. Could you tell me if this is true or not as I really can’t wear dentures? I have one with two teeth on it an can’t speak or eat with dentures in and this is really depressing me and I would really like your advice on it. Thank you so much.

I Would Like to Know If I Can Still Get Braces Even Though I Have Missing Teeth?

Tuesday, April 8th, 2014
Q.

Hi Mark. I hope you can help me with a problem I have. I’m curious to know if I can wear braces even if I have an incomplete set of teeth. In my upper part I don’t have a second molar and a first premolar and in lower part I don’t have my second molar? My teeth seem to be separating from each other. I want to know because I’m set to visit my dentist and I want to know if it’s worth asking for braces. I just need to know first so that if it’s impossible I will not go to my dentist. Thank you for your time and I look forward to your reply.
