My NHS dentist never picked up on problems found by a dentist I visited in Australia – what do you suggest?

Tuesday, January 11th, 2011
Q.

hi, I have just returned from visiting Australia. Whilst I was there I visited my parents dentist and he was horrified at the state of my teeth due to NHS care. I had been going every three months and 3 days before going to Australia. The UK dentist failed to find 4 fillings, one abcess which was so bad it needed extracting and the tooth next to it needed a huge filling and two loose front teeth which have now been bound! I am now terrified to go back to an NHS dentist and have a 10 year old daughter who they checked and found to have her lower teeth pressing on her upper gum. Anyway, I would like to have my teeth properly looked at to make sure that I do not have gum disease, to assess the loose teeth for possible implants and find out what else is wrong as the Australians ran out of time before we needed to return to the ‘front’. What would you suggest for me and my daughter. Does she need you or an orthodontist and how can I manage my teeth properly if the NHS is failing me so badly.

I have been a phobia of brushing my teeth, it goes through me i have got an electric one that too goes through me it makes me wanna cringe.

Im told my dentist this when i had dentist , he told me i was just being stupid. I have this problem for ages. since i had braces on fears back.

Im 28yrs old, my teeth is not perfect ive neglected them they begining to hurt i have filling thats missing. My dentist failed to contact me when i got hold of them its like they never exsited the number changed the place doesnt even exsits no more…

on top right of my jaw my filling fell out of that hole in may i think now every time i try to brush y teeth despite it goes through me the cold water goes right through me this put me off from brushing the
i have swollen gums.

I used Rapid relif toothpaste my teeth begining to wobble am i too late to save them… i used eat lots of sugar too ive cut down a week ago now.

Some old dentisit used to say to me they wobble if ur under alot of stress or if ur worrying about something i not sure if thats true or not..

i had this other fluride gel thing pharmist gave me that put it on at night it helps to prtect ur namel on ur teeth, i dnt have ne namel they turned yellow. the gel helps ur teeth to stop wobbling ive gone blk on the stuff cos i do fear some time soon they may all fall out.

If I have a pocket in my gum is there anything I can do to prevent it getting worse or stop my teeth from falling out?

Thursday, December 9th, 2010
Q.

hi doctor,i have been asking several people and still haven’t got any clear answers.i am hoping you can help.my two front teeth are slightly loose and when i went to see my dentists she said i had a tiny pocket but didn’t do anything else.i have to wear a mouth guard at night as i grind my teeth but was wondering what,if anything,i can do to prevent them from loosening anymore and falling out.i really don’t want to lose them.i have read up in case i do lose them about having a bridge, but i was wondering if i could have it as the two teeth next to the front ones are healthy but one of my fangs(as i call them)on my right side is slightly clicking.any advise would help,i thought i might add that i have started using corsodyl toothpaste and mouthwash as my dentist did tell me to use them, but im not sure what they would do to help.could you explain what they do if anything aswell.many thanks

Is it possible to have a bone graft if I suffer from periodontitis?

Friday, November 19th, 2010
Q.
I was told a while back that I have bad peridonist and would lose my teeth and be unable to have implants as my bone would not support them, I have now had my two front upper teeth taken out and a denture fitted which I am not getting on with I have now heard that you can have treatment to enhance the jaw bone can you tell me if this is possible and the cost implications of this thanks,
