I am losing teeth, what could I do to stop this and fill the gaps left?

Friday, March 18th, 2011
Q.

Good afternoon,

I am a 28 year old male with a loose tooth in my lower jaw. If I count from the front backwards it is the 4th tooth in. I have healthy gums and visit my dentist (NHS patient) every six months for routine checks. I have only 2 fillings having recieved my 2nd aprox 1 year ago.

I have had orthodontic treatment as a child and have also had teeth removed as part of treatment due to over crowding. The tooth that is loose has been for aprox over 10 years. If it is knocked by hard food it will usually tighten after a week or so, however recently it was disturbed by eating something hard and I think it is on its last legs. This tooth is sits between a canine tooth and a back molar. So, in total in my lower jaw I have 4 big back molars, 4 smaller back molars, 2 canines, 4 incisors at the front and this one odd loose tooth between a small molar and canine. This particular tooth I believe should have been removed during my orthodontic treatment but for whatever reason was not. Now it is ready to come out and I will be left with a noticeable gap.

In your experience what would you recommend be put in place or what treatment is available?

Regards.

My teeth are loose because of gum disease, what should I do to replace them?

Monday, March 14th, 2011
Q.

Hi, I have gum disease but mostly in the front bottom whereby one tooth is very loose and apparently the gum has gone leaving the tooth with no support, the next tooth is also leaning due to limited support, therefore both teeth will have to be removed, would you recommend a bridge for the loose tooth or have the two done together with permenant teeth, thanks

What should I do about gum recession?

Wednesday, March 2nd, 2011
Q.

Hi,
I have some gum recession behind my lower front two teeth, probably from 10 years of smoking. I have since given up and endeavour to keep my teeth in good health. Both teeth have some slight movement in them, one a very small amount and the other less than a millimetre, but concerning nonetheless. Can one get gum grafting in the UK and would this help?

Many thanks,

I have loose teeth syndrome – are my treatment options limited?

Wednesday, February 2nd, 2011
Q.

Hi, I think I have “loose” teeth syndrome and have lost quite a few teeth over the years, so all of my top front teeth are crowned, one is actually loose now. I was told that because I have “loose” teeth, my options are limited- is this true?
