Having initially been told I wouldn’t need to have two ‘exposures’, I am now being advised differently, any advice?

Wednesday, November 17th, 2010
Q.
In a weeks time I am having the first stage of two implants being put in, on my top jaw near the front, after two extractions and a bone graft last june. I will have a bridge as well as I now have three spaces. When I was given a quote in June, the dentist said it was very unlikely I would need to have two ‘exposures’ but now he says I do have to, costing an additional £165 each, or otherwise I can not wear my denture for the next six months. I simply could not understand his explanation. Could you please explain? Thank you.,

Are train track braces the best option to move my teeth forward, and is surgery the only way to correct lower jaw alignment?

Wednesday, November 10th, 2010
Q.
I am 24 years old and I want to straighten my bottom teeth as they have been pushed back from sucking my thumb as a child. My top teeth are fine. I had an intial consultation with an orthodontists who has informed me i will need train tracks braces for approximately 6-12 months as other braces are not suitable for the type of movement needed. I have been quoted between £3500 and £4000 plus another £400 for inital x-rays and pictures to determine exact tretment needed. Is this price about right? i was thinking it would be more like £2500 all in so was wondering whether to pay for a second consoltation elsewhere? (i live in south of England- Southampton area). Could you give me an indication of price (i know cases vary)? Also he said my lower jaw has slightly moved back and to get a perfect alignement this would need to be corrected- is surgery the only method? if it is i am not interested in having this done.,

Would my jaw need breaking to realign my uneven bite or would braces work?

Friday, October 22nd, 2010
Q.
Hi, I have a terrible uneven bite, it’s humiliating when i smile, my teeth are really crooked and my jaw locks out of place every time i open my mouth wide and one of my front teeth is black after i fell years ago and have had many fillings, the one now is held in with a screw… Would my jaw need breaking to realign or would braces do the trick? Thanks, ,

Would veneers be suitable for me? I don’t have an overbite but my bottom jaw is a bit more forward than the top jaw?

Tuesday, October 19th, 2010
Q.
Hi i don’t have an over bite, my bottom teeth and top teeth are practically in line with each other, maybe bottom jaw teeth are a milimeter further forward than top jaw teeth – would veneers work for me or would they keep pinging off??,

What can I do to fix my cracking jaw and my misaligned teeth?

Tuesday, October 5th, 2010
Q.
Hello, I am 19 years old and have already worn a brace for a long period of time a few years ago because I used to suck my thumb as a child. Although I have no gaps now i feel as though nothing is in line, i have no comfortable bite and quite bad problems with a cracking jaw (i cant open it without cracking and its sometimes painful) and my smile is squint and embarrassing. The jaw issue has only been for about 6-8months and I think it became a permanent problem after a filling I had but I cant be sure. Would you recomment that I leave it to sort itself out or does something need to be done? I get married in six months and dont want to be wearing a visible brace then.,

My son has a small jaw and after years of treatment his teeth are still not aligned. Can you help?

Monday, September 27th, 2010
Q.
hi! my son is now 14 years of age. and has a small jaw. when he was 10 his teeth were crowded so a dentist recommended braces for the upper jaw and he also removed two permanent teeth from the upper jaw. after nearly two years of treatment the teeth were still not aligned. now we are considering braces again. we went to two different orthodontists, both saying different things. one wants to remove two teeth from the lower jaw to make the number of teeth equal on both the upper and lower jaw. the other one is saying he would straighten out the teeth without extractions. i am so confused. please help!!,
